Radio System FAQ

How do I set up flaperons with a 6+ channel receiver?

For 6+ channel receivers or 5 channels (after completing these steps):

___

Press Mode (twice if necessary) to open Advanced menu

___

Dial to Flaperon. Press Dial to select

___

Cursor Up to Mix and Turn Dial left to activate

___

Try your aileron stick. Do the servos move properly? If not, go to servo reversing and reverse the backward servo and come back here.

___

Adjust the aileron and flap travels of the 2 servos, if desired, here, to create differential, decreased flap travel, etc.

___

Press End twice to close the menu.

Now that your ailerons work as ailerons, lets get the flap portion of your flaperons functioning as well.

Do you want to operate your flaps from the knob? or from a switch? or would you like to operate the knob as solely a flap trim (its intended function) and then operate full flaps from a switch?

To operate the flap trimming knob:

___

Press Mode to open Advanced Menu

___

Dial to FLAP-TRIM and Press Dial to Select

___

This is where you determine how much throw your flaperons will have when acting from the flap knob ONLY. Set the desired percentage. Turn the flap dial to the left and right to see the flaps drop this prescribed distance and adjust as needed.

___

Press End twice to close.

To operate the flaps from a switch:

You can use airbrake function, which will also give you elevator response as well automatically if you desire.

___

Press the Mode Key to open advanced menu.

___

Dial until you reach ABRAKE and press Dial to select.

___

Cursor up to Mix and Dial Right to activate it

___

Cursor down once, and adjust the desired throw of the first aileron servo

___

Cursor down once, and adjust the desired elevator servo throw (set to 0 if no compensation desired)

___

Cursor down once, and adjust the desired flap throw (set to 0 if no elevator response desired)

___

Cursor down once, and adjust the desired 2nd aileron servo throw

___

Cursor down once, and set a delay, if desired, to drop the airbrakes more slowly

___

Cursor down once. The stock setting is switch C, manual response. If desired, you can set it to respond to switch C AND to be progressively responsive per throttle stick movement by turning the Dial left so Linear displays, then put the throttle in the desired position and press the Dial down until it beeps to set the position.

Another way to operate flaps from a switch, or to give a second switch setting for a different amount of flaps:

___

From the advanced menu, Dial until you reach an available PMIX and press to select

___

Cursor down twice and dial left to make it active

___

Cursor down once

___

Turn Dial until master channel says OFS (for offset)

___

Cursor down once

___

Turn Dial until second channel says FLP

___

Cursor down once

___

Leave Link on

___

Cursor down and set desired switch

___

Cursor down and set desired active switch position

___

Cursor down then turn Dial until desired flap travel % is set

___

Press End twice to close

That's it!
